Our Mission
Oak Ridge Physical Therapy helps people in our community improve their personal health and quickly return to activities following orthopaedic or sports injuries. Our environment is God honoring, professional, positive and progressive.

Oak Ridge Physical Therapy recently celebrated their 3rd anniversary!

From the time the first patient walked through the door in October 2008, GOD has blessed Oak Ridge Physical Therapy.  Early in 2008, Andy Michels, with the encouragement of his family, decided to take the plunge and launch his own independent physical therapist owned practice. Although the economy hit rock bottom prior to opening that October, Oak Ridge Physical Therapy has since that time treated 1100 patients referred by over 200 physicians.

Andy has been an Oak Ridge resident since 1992. As a Physical Therapist and Sports Certified Specialist, his goal is to serve the current and future physical therapy needs of residents in Oak Ridge, Stokesdale, Summerfield, Kernersville, Northwest Guilford County and the Rockingham County area. Show More...

Andy began this outpatient orthopaedic and sports physical therapy facility after working 16 years with physicians at Greensboro Orthopaedics and two years with the athletes at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Oak Ridge Physical Therapy has earned the respect of the community and the surrounding area and is the trusted go-to source for rehabilitation. They see patients referred by any physician, as well as patients who come in their own with no doctor referral.  Oak Ridge Physical Therapy staff has treated athletes and students from Northwest Guilford, Northern Guilford, McMichael, and South Stokes High Schools, as well as the Oak Ridge Military Academy.

Located in a beautiful and rapidly growing region of Guilford County, North Carolina, Oak Ridge Physical Therapy provides a convenient location for residents to access this important allied healthcare profession.  The staff is dedicated to serving the needs of patients with acute or chronic orthopaedic, sports related conditions, industrial injuries or walking and balance problems.  Sports injury prevention and post-rehab transition exercise services are also provided.

Andy is very grateful for the blessings GOD has bestowed on the facility, patients and staff.

He did not run you in and out like cattle, which made for a positive experience. I know that not only skill, but the ability to communicate and make people feel at ease will gain their trust.

— Robert Edwards
